This article describes how to block a Facebook page using the Facebook mobile app or a web browser.
How to Block a Page or App on Facebook
You can block individual pages and Facebook applications the same way you can block people on Facebook. In a web browser, here’s how to block pages and applications.
- Go to Facebook.com, then pick Settings & Privacy from the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner.
Select Blocking in the left menu.
- To block an app, go to Block apps and type the name of the app you want to block. When it appears in the drop-down menu, select it.
- Start typing the name of the page you want to block in the Block Pages box, then pick it from the drop-down menu.
- Return to your Blocking settings and click Unblock next to the tab you want to unblock.
How to Block a Page in the Facebook Mobile App
In the Facebook mobile app, you can’t block organisations or applications, but you can block individuals. To block a profile, go to their profile and tap the three dots next to their name, then Block, then Block again.
Why Block Pages on Facebook?
When you block an app, person, or organization profile, you’ll no longer see updates from them on your timeline. They won’t even appear in your searches.
Block Facebook Group and Event Pages
It takes a bit more work to block Facebook groups and event sites. You may use parental control software or your web browser to block websites. Since event and community updates can still appear in your timeline, you can leave the group or withdraw from the event.
